Languimberg is a charming small village in northeastern France with only 192 inhabitants. It is located in the heart of the Moselle department in the Lorraine region. This French department is the most populous in the Lorraine region. It gets its name from the Moselle River, a tributary of the Rhine, which runs through its western part and waters the city of Metz.
Languimberg village is ideally located, just a stone’s throw from Sarrebourg and the Sainte-Croix animal park. A stop is a must at the village’s restaurant, which has been awarded a Michelin star and where gastronomy is synonymous with conviviality: you will have the pleasure of enjoying dishes that combine trends and local flavors, in accordance with the seasons.

Cruise on the Sarre Coal Canal
The Sarre Coal Canal and the Sarre canalized form a 105 km waterway, of which 63 km is an artificial canal including 27 locks.
From Sarreguemines, this canal crosses the magnificent Sarre valley, then runs along the Alsace Bossue and the Lorraine Regional Nature Park. It is known to be one of the greenest in France.
The canal also crosses the Lorraine reservoir lakes of Gondrexange, Mittersheim and Stock. From Saarbrücken to Gondrexange, the waterway is bordered by a towpath converted into a cycle path.
Cruise on the Marne-Rhine Canal
Navigating west on the Marne-Rhine Canal, you will pass through unique and characterful landscapes, including the historic city of Saverne (16 km) and the Arzviller inclined plane (a boat lift), which is a unique infrastructure in Europe, replacing 17 closely spaced locks. With its classic works (West Tunnel, Réchicourt lock), this canal offers a complete change of scenery. Known for being a winding and characterful canal as it crosses the Vosges mountain range, it will take you through amazing and unique landscapes.

the castle of Fénétrange, the stained glass and tapestry of Chagal at the Cordeliers chapel in Sarrebourg, Sarreguemines: its pottery museums, its garden and its archaeological park, the small town of Sarralbe.

The Sarre Coal Canal is bordered by a bike path that stretches from Houillon to beyond Sarreguemines. This bike route is part of the Eurovélo 5 (this bike path will eventually connect London-England to Brindisi-Italy).
